The visual artist Rodrigo Gukwikila lives and works in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has a Master's degree (bac+5) in plastic arts, with a major in painting, from the Academy of Fine Arts of Kinshasa. The "arrow", the element around which he has built his approach, summarizes his artistic identity and remains his object of representation. Rodrigo has chosen the shape of an arrow since 2013 to describe the depth of his shots, drawing inspiration from the vision of the eagle.
The 32-year-old artist won the very first prize in the first edition of the CFAO Young Talent Competition (2018) organized in Kinshasa at the Bilembo Cultural Center by the Angalia Art Gallery. In 2021, he was among the ten winners of the Daniel Lipszyc Prize for Contemporary Art, held in Spain. In 2022, he exhibited at the Yango Biennale of Kinshasa 2.
